For those of you who are wondering what my beliefs are, this is what the article here is about.
I was raised a devout Lutheran. I was never taught all that hate mongering crap and superstitious nonsense that you the readers hear a lot about from the religious right. I was taught the stuff from the bible that really mattered, you know that whole "do good unto others" and "good Samaritan" principles that Jesus taught people about.
Even though I shit talk religion, I still want to believe that an all powerful being that calls itself God exists, just not in the same sense that the terrorists and criminals of the religious right believe.
But a majority of time I would rather think of myself of a militant humanist. I believe in doing good for things for people who are need, regardless of what others may say. If I am told by those savages of the religious right that helping the homeless is fascism or socialism, I will simply say that I am proud.
In the end, I am only enforcing the concept that one doesn't need to religion to be of morals. I just prefer to believe what I want as long as it doesn't harm those who can't fend for themselves.
